Delete your ResearchSwipe account
You can permanently delete your ResearchSwipe account and its data in any of these ways.
Option 1 - On the website (instant)
- Log in to ResearchSwipe and open Settings (from your avatar menu).
- Under Danger zone, choose Delete account.
- Enter your password and confirm with Delete my account.
Option 2 - By email
Email myresearchmate1@gmail.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject "Account deletion request". We will verify the request and delete the account within 30 days, and confirm by email.
What is deleted
- Your login (email and password)
- Your profile, including publications, certifications, links, interests and open positions
- Your swipes, saved profiles and saved publications
- Connection requests you sent and received, and blocks you created
- Your connections and all messages in conversations you were part of
What is kept, and for how long
- Reports submitted by or about your account are kept for up to 12 months for safety and abuse-prevention, then deleted.
- Data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
