Terms of Use & Community Guidelines

ResearchSwipe is founded and operated by Princy Rastogi, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. By creating an account or using ResearchSwipe you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who can use ResearchSwipe
You must be at least 18 years old, able to form a binding agreement, and not previously removed from the service. One person, one account.
2. What the service is for
ResearchSwipe helps researchers, students and research-hiring professionals find each other for academic and professional purposes: collaboration, co-authorship, supervision, mentorship, internships and research positions. It is not a dating service.
3. Community guidelines
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post, send or offer:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Sexual content, sexual advances or solicitation, or any romantic or sexual pressure.
- Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality or any other protected characteristic.
- Spam, scams, phishing, pyramid schemes, or unsolicited advertising.
- Fake profiles, impersonation, or false claims about your identity, affiliation, degrees, publications or credentials.
- Exploitative or predatory offers, including positions that require the applicant to pay a fee, paper mills, authorship-for-sale, or plagiarism and academic-misconduct services.
- Other people's personal information, or content that infringes copyright or other rights.
- Violent, graphic, illegal, or dangerous content, or content that promotes self-harm.
4. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
You can block or report any account from their profile or conversation. We review reports and act on objectionable content within 24 hours, which may include removing content and suspending or permanently banning accounts without notice. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
5. Your content
You own the content you provide. You grant ResearchSwipe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and transmit it solely to operate the service, for as long as it remains on the service. You are responsible for making sure your content is accurate and that you have the right to share it.
6. Your own judgement
Profile details, publications, metrics and position offers are self-reported and are not verified by ResearchSwipe. Verify people, institutions and offers independently before sharing sensitive information, travelling, signing agreements or making payments. Arrangements you make with other users are solely between you and them.
7. Account security and termination
Keep your password confidential. You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResearchSwipe is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for the conduct of any user, on or off the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
